Terms & Conditions

We aimed to avoid the typical "click and agree" contracts where terms are accepted without reading. Thus, we've kept this as concise as we can. Kindly take 5 minutes in reviewing it.
Terms & Conditions that apply to the agreement when you book with Rent-A-Tent Limited.
 
1. Legal Age Requirement
The lessee must be of legal age as defined by their home country to enter into this agreement and rent the equipment.

2. Use of Equipment
The lessee agrees to use the rented equipment solely for its intended purpose as specified by the lessor. Any unauthorized use, misuse, or alteration of the equipment is strictly prohibited and may result in additional charges.

3. Lessee's Responsibilities
a. Upon delivery inspection
The lessee must conduct an inspection of the equipment to ensure it's in good condition.
b. Return conditions
The lessee is obligated to return the tent and equipment in the same condition and at the same location where it was initially received. This is apart from consumables like to gas cannisters, coffee, tea, dishwash liquid, salt & pepper and cooking oil.
c. Accountability for damage or theft.
The lessee is accountable for any damage, theft or damage caused intentionally or by reckless behaviour of the tent or other rented equipment. They agree to reimburse any loss or damage to the equipment according to the lessor's specified rates and fees. 

4. Liability and Indemnification
The lessee assumes full responsibility for any personal injuries, damages, or liabilities incurred during the use of the rented equipment. The lessee agrees to indemnify and hold the lessor harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from their use or misuse of the equipment.

5. Maintenance and Care
The lessee agrees to maintain the rented equipment in good condition during the rental period. This includes regular cleaning, proper storage, and adherence to any specific care instructions provided by the lessor. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear is the responsibility of the lessee and may incur additional charges.

6. Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Rent-A-Tent Limited at info@rent-a-tent.co.nz. Rent-A-Tent Limited retains a confirmation fee of NZD 50 for all cancellations. Additionally:
Cancellation with more than 14 days' notice:     90% refund
Cancellation between 14 - 8 days' notice:            50% refund
Cancellation with less than 8 days' notice:          No refund will be issued.

7. Bond
The lessee will be charged with $300 NZD as bond during the payment of the booking. This will be fully refunded within 3 days if the package and camping equipment is deemed in good condition by the lessor.
 
8. Extension or Renewal
The extension of the rental period is subject to approval by the lessor and may be contingent upon availability. Any request for extension must be communicated to the lessor before the expiration of the current rental period. Extensions are subject to additional fees.

9. Termination of Agreement
Either party may terminate this agreement early under circumstances mutually agreed upon in writing. The lessee understands that early termination may be subject to penalties or fees as directed by the lessor.

10. Force Majeure Clause
Rent-A-Tent Limited shall not be held liable for any delays, damages, or inability to provide rented equipment due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control or events of force majeure. These events include but are not limited to natural disasters, war, pandemics, storms, or severe wind conditions that prevent the pitching of tents.

11. Lessor's Responsibilities
The lessor holds no liability for any damage or theft of the lessee's personal belongings or possessions during the rental period.

12. Privacy and Data Handling
The lessee acknowledges and consents to the collection and use of personal information provided in connection with this rental agreement. The lessor agrees to handle and store this information for the sole purpose of facilitating this rental transaction.

13. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any disputes or disagreements arising from this agreement, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, either party may pursue other legal remedies available in accordance with the governing law.
