We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Rent a Tent in New Zealand. As someone who has been camping for years, I really appreciated how complete and well thought-out the entire package was. We couldn’t bring our own camping gear from Europe, so finding this service was honestly perfect. Everything we needed was included — and more. The setup was incredibly practical, and all the equipment was very clean and well maintained. The storage boxes were especially impressive: everything was neatly organized, and there were clear photos showing how to set up the tent, which made it super easy. There are also videos available if needed, but honestly, setting up and packing down the tent was quick and straightforward. A special thank you to Kirsten, who was incredibly flexible and helpful. Due to an issue with our rental car, we were late for our original pickup time. This was no problem at all for her — she arranged to meet us at a different location later on, which we really appreciated. She even provided extra sleeping bags because our first night was going to be the coldest of the trip. That made a huge difference for us. After our first night, Kirsten also checked in with us to make sure everything was okay, which we found very thoughtful. The return process was just as smooth and easy. The tent itself was perfect — not too big, not too small, and with a very practical front area to sit in. The overall quality and organization of the gear even inspired us to take photos for our own future camping setup! In terms of value for money, this is absolutely excellent. We would highly recommend Rent a Tent to anyone — it’s a fantastic alternative to the very expensive RV rentals in New Zealand.

We were extremely happy with our experience with Rent a Tent. From the very beginning, they were incredibly flexible and helpful. Due to problems with our rental car, we couldn’t make it on time for our original appointment. This was absolutely no problem for them at all. Once the car rental was sorted out, we contacted Rent a Tent and easily arranged a new meeting point near the airport. Everything went very smoothly. Because we rented later in the season and evenings could get quite cold, Rent a Tent had already anticipated this and kindly provided us with an extra sleeping bag. This made a big difference and really showed how well they think along with their customers. The tent itself was spotlessly clean—so clean that it looked almost brand new. The rental package was also extremely complete: from pillows and chairs to dish soap and even clothespins. Everything you need for a comfortable camping trip is included. I even took photos of the contents to use as a reference when I go camping on my own in the future. In short: excellent service, high-quality equipment, and a very customer-focused approach. Five stars without any doubt—we would definitely rent from Rent a Tent again!

We rented a premium tent from Rent A Tent and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The tent was a great size for our family, very clean, and surprisingly easy to put up—even after a long day of driving. You can tell it’s well maintained and designed with comfort in mind. The team was fantastic to deal with—friendly, helpful, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. What we really loved was the freedom it gave us to explore New Zealand at our own pace. Having everything we needed in a reliable setup made the trip so much more enjoyable. Our family had an absolute blast and made some amazing memories along the way. Absolutely fantastic experience, start to finish. Super friendly and helpful comms & easy collection of gear. And the gear was excellent. We had to erect it in the dark and rain and it was all super simple - clear instructions, comfortable bedding and cleaning and entertainment kits that include everything you could imagine. We’ve been raving about this service to friends - will definitely use Rent-a-tent again as it totally took the sting out of set up costs for our family of four.
