We rented the two person essential set with the upgraded air mattress and had an amazing experience. Henk and Seb‘s personal touch to their business is what takes it over the top. This is a great option for anyone visiting and camping around New Zealand. We loved the quality and ease of each item. This package had everything we needed 🤍 thanks so much!!

Absolutely fantastic experience, start to finish. Super friendly and helpful comms & easy collection of gear. And the gear was excellent. We had to erect it in the dark and rain and it was all super simple - clear instructions, comfortable bedding and cleaning and entertainment kits that include everything you could imagine. We’ve been raving about this service to friends - will definitely use Rent-a-tent again as it totally took the sting out of set up costs for our family of four.

We wanted to try out camping for the first time without having to buy our own tent. Grateful to Rent-a-Tent for accommodating our request to hire out only the tent and sleeping stuff from the 2-person premium package. The tent was perfect for what we needed. Overall the renting process went smoothly (from pick up to drop off) and our questions were answered promptly. We are very satisfied with the entire experience and will rent from them again in case we still haven’t purchased our own.

This was such a great service! In the past we have bought inexpensive camping equipment when abroad but it was so much better renting. The quality of the equipment was better and Rent-a-tent really did give you all the things you needed, even in the basic package (including nice additions like a solar lamp to hang in the tent, a mallet for putting in tent pegs, and even to towels to dry dishes). They also made it super convenient to get and return the tent, meeting us at our rental car company. I highly recommend this as an alternative to an expensive campervan hire!

We went with the 3 person Premium Package. Henk was kind enough to include gear for a 4th person. The gear exceeded our expectations -- including a blow up tent, self-inflating air mattresses, sleeping bags, tables, camping chairs, cutlery, etc. Pictured below includes the tent, tables, chairs, cooking gear. The tent survived strong gales and rain during our trip.

Rent-A-Tent has been fantastic for our 4 week adventure in New Zealand. We opted for the premium package plus bbq and it has everything that we could want. The addition of the covered porch area has been invaluable during some rainy days and nights. Communication with Rent-A-Tent has been superb and both Sebastiaan and Henk have been really hopeful through the booking process and checking in while we have been travelling. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
